About the Artist:
Michael Sloan (born 1947) is a native of Davidson County, Tennessee, and served as the state's official Artist-in-Residence from 1990 to 2000. He is widely recognized for his watercolor landscapes that capture the spirit and history of the American South. His most notable work, "Tennessee Treasures," was designated as the official State Painting for Tennessee in 1997.
