Terms & Conditions

The items offered in this auction are being sold by Rain City Estate Sales, LLC (RCES), either as the owner or as an authorized agent on behalf of the consignor. All purchases are subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.

RCES reserves the right to modify these terms at any time. It is the bidder's responsibility to stay updated on the latest terms, which will take effect immediately unless stated otherwise.

By registering and becoming a member of this site, you agree to abide by these terms and conditions.

Site Usage

You are permitted to use this site only in accordance with these Terms of Use. Upon completing your registration, you consent to receiving email communications from us. To maintain membership, you must continue to receive these emails.

You also authorize RCES to charge the credit or debit card provided for any items you win, including the hammer price, buyer's premium, applicable shipping & handling fees, and sales tax. The card will be charged within 24 hours of the auction's conclusion. Failure to keep valid credit card details will result in the termination of your access to the site.

Membership Eligibility

Before placing bids, you must register online with Auction Ninja and provide a valid major credit card. By registering, you confirm that you are of legal age and agree to provide accurate, up-to-date information. Additionally, you agree to maintain valid credit card details while your membership remains active with RCES.

Buyer's Contract

Placing a bid constitutes a legally binding agreement to pay for the items you win, including the sale price, buyer's premium, shipping & handling, and applicable taxes. If you are unable to pay or take possession of the items within the allotted time, please refrain from bidding. Unpaid items by noon after the auction may be sold to the next highest bidder. All sales are final with no returns, exchanges, or credits.

Item Descriptions

RCES typically sells vintage, antique, or used items. While we strive to note any damages or repairs, the absence of such details does not imply that an item is in perfect condition. You should expect wear consistent with age. Condition reports may be available upon request as a courtesy, but RCES and the consignor make no warranties regarding the accuracy of descriptions, authenticity, age, or condition. All items are sold as-is, where-is.

Buyer's Premium

A buyer’s premium of 18% will be added to the hammer price and will be charged along with applicable taxes and fees to your registered credit or debit card within 24 hours of the auction's end.

Payment

Winning bidders must present identification upon checkout. After the auction closes, the highest bidder assumes full responsibility for the lot and must pay the full purchase price, including any applicable buyer's premium. RCES is not responsible for any technical issues, including internet connectivity problems. Payment will be processed within 24 hours of the auction's conclusion, and all payments must be made in full before items can be picked up or shipped.

No items will be released until full payment is received, and RCES is not responsible for third-party carriers. If payment is not made within 24 hours, RCES reserves the right to pursue alternative actions, including selling to the next highest bidder or canceling the sale.

Sales Tax

All sales are subject to applicable sales tax unless the buyer provides a valid sales tax exemption certificate before the auction ends. Tax-exempt buyers must submit their certificate through their membership profile before bidding.

Retention of Credit Card Information

As a registered member, you must provide accurate and complete information, including valid credit card details. You agree to maintain this information throughout the duration of your membership with RCES.

Pick-Up & Shipping

Winning bidders must provide ID matching the registered shipping address. RCES requires items to be picked up at the designated location within the specified time. No flexibility will be given for pick-up dates.

RCES offers in-house shipping via USPS with flat-rate shipping fees and a handling fee of $10. Please check whether your item qualifies for shipping before bidding. If necessary, buyers may arrange third-party shipping. Jewelry purchases are subject to specific shipping terms and handling fees.

RCES is not responsible for items lost or damaged during shipping, whether handled in-house or by third-party carriers. Payment in full and ID verification are required before any shipment can be made.

Failure to Pick-Up & Storage

If items are not picked up on the scheduled date, RCES reserves the right to charge a daily storage fee of $10 per lot. After the final pick-up date, any items left on RCES premises will be considered forfeited.

Extended Bidding & Soft Close

RCES auctions feature extended bidding, also known as a "soft close." If a bid is placed within the last five minutes of a lot's scheduled closing, the bidding time will extend to allow other participants a chance to bid. This process will continue until no further bids are placed.
