Why does the closing time keep extending at the end of the auction?
The timer keeps extending at the end of the auction due to a feature called a "soft-close." This means that if a bid is placed in the final few minutes of the auction, the closing time is automatically extended by a few more minutes. This ensures that other bidders have a fair chance to respond to last-minute bids, preventing someone from winning by simply placing a bid at the very last second. The timer will extend as long as new bids are placed during the final moments.
Why do I keep getting outbid right away?
Auction Ninja’s automatic bidding feature allows bidders to set a maximum bid amount, and the system will automatically increase their bid to the next increment whenever they are outbid, up to that maximum. Here’s how it works: When you place a bid, you can choose to enter a specific amount, or you can let the system know your maximum bid—the highest amount you're willing to pay for the item. If another bidder places a bid that’s higher than your current bid, the system will automatically increase your bid by the next available increment, without you having to manually place a new bid. This keeps your bid in the lead, but only to the extent of your maximum bid. Once your maximum bid is reached, the system will stop bidding on your behalf, even if another bidder places a higher offer.If you’re outbid, you’ll receive a notification and have the option to increase your maximum bid manually if you wish. This system helps reduce the need to constantly monitor the auction and manually adjust your bid, while also keeping the process fair and competitive for everyone involved.
What is the Buyer’s Premium?
The buyer’s premium is an 18% fee added to the final hammer price of the items you win at auction. For example, if you win an item with a bid of $100, a buyer’s premium of 18% ($18) will be added, making the total cost for the item $118. This fee helps cover administrative costs, platform fees, and ensures that we can continue to offer high-quality estate sale services and auctions.
