Julie Sutton-Overton is an antiques specialist. Beginning with her involvement with the family antiques business from a young age, she has been surrounded by a wide range of interesting and high quality antiques most of her life. Not that just being surrounded by antiques of itself has value to our clients, but the lifelong appreciation, understanding and affection for real objects of art and history has made Julie a well-respected and sought after specialist.
Most recetly she created Farm Fresh Home in Woodbury CT and following its success, and with her husband Martin, purchased a commercial property right in the heart of Connecticut39;s "Antiques capital" to expand the oeration and set up Farmhouse Antiques at 495 South Main Street in Wodbury.
Julie39;s background includes her training in Interior Design, which becomes immediately apparent to everyone visiting the gallery. This traininog has opened the way for her to engage her uninhibited enthusiasm into research into the origins, makers, and designers (i.e. farmers!), of each item in her inventory together with its history, age and value.
What this means to our buyers, both in the store and through our auctions, is the attention to accurate detail in our descriptions and our faithful application of what we know and what we don39;t know about our inventory.
Within our business model, we not only buy and sell antiques but have developed the workshop capacity to repair and restore damaged items and also to re-finish and re-purpose certain types of items and give them a new life and sometimes a new function as well. And that39;s Martin39;s contribution.
