2) What is the cost for your services?
Answer: There are no up-front costs, but instead, a percentage of the sales, based on the services your select:
estate sale, broom-swept clean-out, or consignment sale. Our rates are the most competitive in the marketplace.
3) How do you determine the prices?
Answer: We use an 'Absolute Auction' format, where every item starts out at $1. It may sound counter-intuitive, however, experience has shown that this method garners the most interest and action, in the end. Instead of a reserve price auction, or closed bid auction, Absolute auctions are a method in which the highest bidder wins regardless of their offer. There is no reserve price or minimum bid in this kind of auction, and it sells the most items in a finite auction scenario.
It might sound risky, but for people selling something in high demand, it’s a great way to get the highest price for your item. Buyers are also more likely to bid in this type of auction because they know that if they offer the highest bid, they’ll be able to purchase the item. Often, the item will be 'watched' by a number of bidders, but will see no action until the last hours of the sale, and then the action begins. Competitive bidding will drive up the price and secure a higher final bid than selling 'on-location,' and traditional routes, and our widely varied auction audiences have proven this time and time again. Our auction platform also has an "auto-extend" sales function to get the maximum bids if the last minutes are hot, and safeguards against sniping.
4) What about security, with people in our home?
Answer: No one will be in your home but our staff, and this is our promise. Furthermore, we are a registered LLC business and fully insured, for utmost peace of mind. Pick-ups are managed with a limited-time appointment calendar for the best quality control and civility.
5) How long does all this take?
It depends on a number of factors, but once you tell us to "GO," the whole operation can be completed in about two weeks. No surprises, a check in hand, and one less thing for you to worry about. Anchors Away, to the start of your next journey!

1. USE OF SITE
You may only use the Site in accordance with and subject to these Terms of Use.
You authorize Anchors Away Estate Sales LLC ("Anchors Away" here) to charge the credit or debit card you have entered on this site for the hammer price of an item for which you were the high bidder, plus the buyer's premium and all applicable sales tax. Your card will be charged within 24 hours of auction end. Failure to keep valid credit card information on file will result in your use of the site being terminated.
2. BUYER’S CONTRACT
Bids placed on the Anchors Away website are a binding contract and you are responsible for paying all amounts due to Anchors Away including sale price, buyer's premium and all applicable taxes. Please do not bid if you are unable to pay and take possession of the items in the specified time periods for each auction, sale or event. All sales are final. No returns, credits or exchanges.
3. ITEM DESCRIPTIONS
All items are sold as-is, where-is. We do our best to list any damage, repairs or restorations, and the absence of these descriptions or conditions must not be taken to imply that the lot is in perfect condition. At this time we do not offer preview inspections, so please study the photos and read descriptions before placing your bids. Feel free to email or text us about specific questions. Item condition is described as accurately as possible, however, condition can be subjective and varies from buyer to buyer. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. No returns, credits or exchanges.
4. FEES: BUYER’S PREMIUM and SALES TAX
A buyer’s premium of 18% is added to the hammer price in all auctions and will be charged in addition to applicable sales tax to the credit or debit card you have on file with Anchors Away within 24 hours of the auction end. All sales are subject to appropriate sales tax laws. Tax exempt buyers must provide the appropriate state sales tax exemption certificate to AuctionNinja Tax exempt buyers must provide the appropriate state sales tax exemption certificate to AN prior to the end of the sale. Upon receipt of such information, your future purchases will not be taxed. Tax resale forms can be submitted in your membership profile. Your profile name and address must be the same as your resale certificate.
5. RETENTION OF CREDIT CARD INFORMATION
By providing your credit card information to Anchors Away, you authorize us to charge your credit card for the purchase amount of any successful bid plus the buyer's premium and any applicable taxes. Your card will be charged within 24 hours of auction end. Failure to keep valid credit card information on file will result in your use of the site being terminated.
You certify that you are an authorized user of this credit card, and that you will not dispute the purchase with your credit card company provided the transactions correspond to the terms indicated in this authorization outline.
To initiate your ability to bid with Anchors Away, an initial $1.00 pre-authorization transaction will appear on your statement. This pending transaction will not settle and will drop off after 5 -7 business days. For security purposes we do not store your credit card information. It is held by a reputable third party processor, Authorize.Net.
6. PICK-UP
Successful buyers must pick up their items at the designated sale location within the assigned time frame as stated in the sale details page. Shipping services are limited to pre-arrangement by the winning bidder prior to the end of auction, and at the winning bidder's expense, including handling fee. Please contact us via email or text. If you do not pay your shipping invoice within 5 days of invoice request date, your items with be forfeited without refund.
If, after winning an item, you determine you are unable to pick up your items during the scheduled pick-up times and dates, you must contact Anchors Away within 24 hours of the pick-up time to determine if alternate arrangements can be made. If items are abandoned, left on-site, or you decide that you don't want to take the item, the items will be considered abandoned without refund and your ability to participate in future auctions will be blocked.
SHIPPING will be only under special arrangement after contact and confirmation with Anchors Away, and subject to shipping and handling fees payable by the bidder. Any prior arrangements will be at the sole discretion of Anchors Away and may be subject to transport, labor and/or storage fees which will be payable upon retrieval of your items.
7. FORFEITURE OF ITEMS
Any items not paid and/or not picked up during the specified pick up time in accordance with the Site’s Terms & Conditions will be forfeited by you. Anchors Away, at its sole discretion, will re-offer the items or donate them to a charity of our choosing. Anchors Away reserves the right to report your account to collections for the combined total of the original invoice amount and any moving or disposal charges, and your participation with Anchors Away will be blocked until past due invoices and any additional charges are paid in full.
8. PROHIBITED USE
You agree not to sell, license, rent, modify, distribute, copy, reproduce, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform, publish, adapt, edit or create derivative works from content or materials on the Site. Use of the content and materials for any purpose not expressly permitted in these Terms of Use is prohibited. You may not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise reduce the Site to a human-perceivable form, except and only to the extent that such activity is expressly permitted by applicable law, and in that case, only if you notify us in writing in advance. You may not copy, frameset, enclose or otherwise distribute any part of this Site without express prior permission.
