Charles Street Auctions is led by Jim Parker, a collector, carver, and respected decoy historian with over four decades of experience. Him has professionally cataloged more than $20 million work of decoys, carvings, folk art, wildlife art, antique firearms, historical military objects, hunting and fishing gear and fine collectibles, bringing knowledge and integrity to every sale.
His journey began in 1983, working alongside Robin and Doc Starr at Doc's legendary Duxbury boathouse decoy auction, an event and collection so renowned it was featured in National Geographic. Since then, Jim has worked with icons in the field and developed deep connections with collectors across New England, giving him unmatched insight into unique and carefully curated collections.
In 2008, Jim undertook the historic restoration of the Elmer Crowell barn, the original workshop of one of America's most celebrated decoy carvers. Meticulously researched and preserved, the barn now stands as a museum and tribute to Crowell's artistry, and to Jim's dedication to honoring American heritage.
At Charles Street Auctions, this same spirit of respect and expertise carries into every sale. Whether you're an avid collector or a first-time buyer, you'll find auctions curated with care, authenticity, and a true passion for the stories behind each piece.
