Agreement to Terms

Participation in our auctions signifies your understanding and acceptance of the following terms. Please review them carefully before bidding.

Bidder Responsibilities

• All bids placed under your account are your responsibility.

• Once submitted, bids are final and cannot be adjusted or withdrawn.

• Protect your login credentials; you are responsible for any activity on your account.

Item Descriptions & Condition

• Every item is sold “as is, where is”, without warranty, guarantee, or return.
  
  
• Descriptions and photographs are provided to assist bidders, but they represent opinions, not certifications.
  
  
• The absence of a condition note does not imply that an item is flawless or free of wear.
  
  
• All sales are final.

Buyer’s Premium

A 18% buyer’s premium will be added to the final bid price of each lot.

Payment Terms

• Payments are processed through AuctionNinja.
  
  
• Massachusetts sales tax (6.25%) will be collected unless a valid resale certificate is provided before bidding. Sales tax cannot be refunded after an auction closes.
  
  

Auctioneer’s Authority

• Charles Street Auctions may cancel a sale or withdraw a lot in the event of error or dispute.
  
  

Bidding Process

• All bidding takes place online through AuctionNinja.
  
  
• We cannot place or change bids on behalf of bidders.
  
  

Materials Restrictions

• Some lots may include ivory or other restricted materials subject to federal, state, or international law.
  
  
• It is the buyer’s responsibility to confirm compliance with all applicable regulations before bidding.
  
  
• Items containing ivory cannot be shipped internationally and are not eligible for purchase in some states (including New York and New Jersey).
  
  
• The buyer is solely responsible for securing any required permits or documentation for import, export, or transport.
  
  

Timepieces

• No guarantee is made regarding the working condition of clocks or watches.
  
  
• Repairs and non-original parts are common in vintage timepieces.
  
  
• Unless otherwise noted, weights include works.
  
  

Pickup

• Pickup is available at 2 Charles Street, Sandwich, MA, unless otherwise noted.
  
  

Abandoned Property

• Lots not picked up as scheduled, without prior arrangement, will be considered abandoned.
  
  
• Abandoned items are non-refundable, and Charles Street Auctions is not obligated to provide notice to the buyer.
  
  

Shipping VERY IMPORTANT

All shipping is handled by independent, third-party providers. Once you have won an item, the shipper will:

• Pick up your item from our location
  
  
• Professionally pack and protect the item
  
  
• Provide insurance coverage for the shipment
  
  
• Arrange payment with you directly
  
  
• Ship the item to your address
  
  

Please note: Shipping costs are determined by the shipper and can be significant, regardless of an item’s size or weight. Costs reflect handling, professional packing, insurance, and transportation.
