Bidder FAQ
What is my “Dashboard”?
Your dashboard is a central hub where you can access all your account information, including items won, consignments, items you're following, items you've bid on, and billing info. You can also update your credit card information from your dashboard.
Why do you require a credit card on file to bid?
A valid credit card is required to ensure the integrity of our auction process. We accept Amex, Discover, Visa, and Mastercard. After the auction ends, your card will be charged for the hammer price, buyer’s premium, and applicable sales tax. All credit card information is encrypted and used solely for transaction purposes.
How do I change my credit card on file?
You can set the new card as your primary card for future auctions. If your credit card was declined, update it, and your auction winnings will appear in your shopping cart for checkout.
What is an opening bid?
An opening bid is the starting price for bidding on an item. Most items start at $1, but some may have a higher starting bid.
What is extended bidding and why is it necessary?
Extended bidding mimics live auctions by allowing additional time for bidding. If a bid is placed within the last five minutes of a lot’s closing time, the countdown resets to five minutes. This prevents “bid sniping” and creates a fair bidding environment.
Why was I outbid by an amount less than the next minimum increment?
You may be outbid by an amount lower than the next increment if another bidder's maximum bid was already set higher than yours. For example, if you bid $100 and another bidder had a maximum bid of $101, you might see the item win at $101, even if the minimum increment is $5.
Sometimes I’m immediately outbid. Why?
This occurs if another bidder has already placed a higher maximum bid. Your bid triggers the automatic bidding system, which raises the other bidder’s bid before yours. If you’re the only bidder, you will win the item for the lowest possible amount, not your maximum bid
