We again purchased some amazing things from Blackthorn, and are content with our items. Everyone was perfectly described, and they made an extra effort when asked directly to do more in depth condition reports around furniture and items alike. We loved the selection this auction and are looking forward to future ones!

Seller only had a 2-hour window on a single day for pickup. While we arrived during this window, they didn't have all of the items I purchased stating they were at another location and I could come back at another time. Items were scattered between vehicles. One item was broken, which they did inform me, but would offer no resolution outside of either taking it or not for the price purchased. They called me later to tell me that I had taken something that was not mine, which I did not. Some of their listings were inaccurate as far as material/age. Overall very disappointing experience, especially at a 20% premium.

This buyer has been extremely uncooperative in all matters. Firstly we notified her before the pickup began that some items (two out of around twenty lots she won and low value lots at that) had unfortunately not made it to the pickup location, and offered to have them present towards the end of the pickup time or to refund. She then sent someone who did not have an invoice nor knew what they were picking up to the pickup. They then we believe took someone elses item by mistake, not one we had pulled out for them but which was near Jessica's other items, a $20 plate a lovely woman in Alabama won. Since the pickup we have made numerous attempts to contact Jessica regarding this plate, even offering to meet up and bring the two items that weren't present at the pickup, only to have our calls refused and no callbacks, and a spiteful review put on our page. She even claims there are discrepancies but has never reached out regarding them, and we are quite certain all the items she purchased mostly at our minimum bid were perfectly described in period and material. While I rarely say this about any buyer, we would appreciate never having the business of Jessica again and will be banning her from future auctions for possible theft and refusal to communicate.

Veneer on top was gouged. Seller said "consistent with age" without noting this obvious damage which could not be perceived in photos. Seller should always note obvious damage to the furniture where the quality is definitely lowered. Chair was listed as "new in packaging" but was missing parts and is basically useless.

Photos clearly showed the damage described by buyer, and we stated the table had wear consistent with age and USE. Other buyers noticed the damage and a Burlwood table which would likely have gone for 50-150 went to the buyer for around $20. We always ask that you look clearly at photos for condition, a gouge will always show up on photos, and I would say it was more just worn then anything.rnrnIn addition, we sold the IKEA chair under the belief all parts were present and clearly photographed what was included. At no point did the buyer reach out in regards to missing parts which we could have looked for.

The listing accuracy was fine EXCEPT THAT EVERYTHING REEKED VERY BADLY OF BEING IN A PLACE WHERE THERE WAS SMOKING! The stuff is useless because it smells so bad. I buy to re-sell and honestly I wouldn't give this stuff away because if smells so bad. I gagged all the way home and still have a pounding headache from it. I'm not sure how the seller can nicely disclose this in advance of accepting bids, but it should be required. I am very unhappy!

By bidding on any auction, you are entering into a binding legal agreement with Blackthorn House Auctions, a branch of Timeless Treats and Relics LLC.

1. All bids submitted at Blackthorn House Auction's are final and irrevocable. If you are the highest bidder when the auction closes, you are the new owner of that item. All sales are final.

2. Blackthorn House Auctions sells each and every item "as is, where is." We make no representations or warranties with respect to the items in our auctions.

3.. Every Blackthorn House Auction is unreserved. Each and every item is sold without reserves, or limits. Blackthorn House Auctions expressly forbids consignors and their agents from bidding on any item they have consigned to an auction. Every item becomes the responsibility of the new owner as soon as the auctioneer announces that an item has been sold. If you are the highest bidder, you are responsible for insuring your purchase immediately.

4. Registration to bid is free. You must register online with a valid credit card through auction ninja to bid on our online auctions.

5. Winning bidders are required to pay a buyer’s premium of 20% on all purchases. Vehicle auctions differ, and have a buyer's premium of 15%.

6. Winning bidders are required to pay Connecticut State Sales Tax of 6.35% on all purchases. (Unless a valid Resale Certificate is provided prior to the auction start)

7. Winning bidder’s Credit Card on file will be charged for the sale price plus the buyer’s premium and CT State Sales Tax upon the close of the auction or shortly thereafter. Buyers cannot take possession of or remove their purchases from the auction site until the total purchase price (including applicable taxes or fees) has been paid in full. Purchases must be removed from the site by the time specified in the auction catalogue or on the auction details page on this website.

8. Winning bidder is responsible for picking up their items on the listed pick up dates. Failure to pick up items on the listed date will result in the item being re-sold or disposed of with no refund due the winning bidder.

9. Winning bidder is responsible for supplying all labor and materials required for pickup and removal of their items.
