Item Description

Pair of hand‑colored fashion plates from the French magazine "La Mode Illustrée," one of Paris’s most prominent fashion periodicals (1860-1937).

The first, published in 1870, depicts two women in Victorian‑era day dresses posed in a garden setting.

The second, from issue "No. 30" published in 1869, and titled "Toilettes de Mme Bréant‑Castel," shows two women and a young girl outdoors, with one woman placing a floral wreath in the child’s hair. Illustrated by renowned 19th‑century fashion artist Héloïse Leloir (French, 1819-1873).
