Item Description

Absolute gem of a solid, genuine mid-20th century maple end cut butcher block that we are pulling out of its home of the past 50+ years, an Italian-American basement "sauce kitchen" in New Haven, CT. The well-worn surface shows the patina of age and has been shaped, gently dipping in spots that saw the most work, in a way that only comes from decades of use. (It came to its current home over fifty years ago from the now-married 88-year-old gentleman's bachelor pad).

Winning bidder must come prepared with a minimum of two strong people and whatever equipment needed to load this into your vehicle. It will be outdoors and ready to be loaded but it is the bidder's responsibility to be able to lift and load it into your vehicle. If you need to hire moving help contact the auction manager for a referral. It is heavy!

Notes: Shows wear and patina of age and a few natural cracks to the wood along the side. The spots visible on two sides seem to be resin that has seeped out of the wood. Overall it needs cleaning of dust but there is NO mold or mildew.
