Bidders are encouraged to view the items in person prior to placing their bids. Prospective bidders are asked to wait at the entrance and we will bring out each item of interest for viewing. We will also provide access to the auction catalogue using our on-site computer, so that bidders may choose the items they would like to view.
TERMS: ALL SALES ARE FINAL. All items are sold AS IS, WHERE IS. We do not accept returns, credits or exchanges. Bidders are strongly encouraged to ask any questions or attend our in-person preview to examine the items prior to bidding. Winning bidders are responsible for performing their own due diligence prior to bidding. We do our best to examine and accurately describe the items as they are presented to us. However, we cannot guarantee authenticity, type of artwork, type of metals or gemstones used in jewelry lots, or that the items are free of defects, wear and tear. Please refer to photos as part of the description. SJD Auctions will do its best to list any damage, repairs or restorations. The absence of these descriptions / conditions do not imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Most of the items SJD Auctions sells are vintage, antique or used. Please expect signs of wear consistent with age / use. We will not issue refunds or accept returns due to winning bidder's failure to look at the photos or read the descriptions. By bidding on our items you are agreeing to these terms.
BUYER'S PREMIUM: 20% for credit cards, 18% for cash or local check.
PAYMENT: Payment is due upon receipt of invoice and will be charged to your credit card on file. Any other forms of payment must be approved by SJD Auctions. If you are a dealer, please upload your tax exempt certificate upon registration. If you do not have a valid tax id on file you will be charged tax.
PICKUP: Post auction, we will be available on Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 10th from 10AM-6PM ONLY. ITEMS MUST BE PICKED UP DURING THE OFFICIAL PICKUP WINDOW - IF YOU CANNOT PICKUP ON THE DESIGNATED PICKUP DAYS, PLEASE SEND SOMEONE IN YOUR PLACE OR CONTACT US TO ARRANGE SHIPPING / DELIVERY. Any items left on premises past the official pickup days will automatically be forfeited by the winning bidder, along with your payment, and become the property of SJD Auctions, UNLESS YOU HAVE ARRANGED FOR SHIPPING OR DELIVERY BY A REPUTABLE DELIVERY COMPANY WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE AUCTION CLOSE.
Winning Bidders must bring help, if required, for large/ heavy items & proper packaging materials/ moving blankets for smaller items. We will provide what we can if available, but cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide packing materials. WE DO NOT PROVIDE ASSISTANCE MOVING OR PACKING YOUR ITEMS, PLEASE COME PREPARED - ANY ITEMS ABANDONED ON PREMISES WILL INCUR A $50 FEE PER ITEM.
SHIPPING: Please contact us within 7 days of the auction close if you require shipping for small to medium items, so that we may add you to our list of pending shipments. PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME THAT WE KNOW YOU REQUIRE SHIPPING.
Lots that are designated eligible for our in-house shipping service will have a small black & white "package" on the upper right corner of the listing. Lots that do not have this symbol are eligible for third party shipping - we can provide a referral, however you will be fully responsible for arranging your own delivery / shipping. Again, please contact us within 7 days of the auction close for a referral and/or to confirm which company you will be using.
All items shipped in-house by SJD Auctions will include insurance coverage. Should items arrive damaged, buyer must contact the delivery service directly to file an insurance claim. Buyer agrees that SJD Auctions is not responsible for lost, stolen or broken items. Additionally, buyer agrees that SJD Auctions is not responsible if the buyer's insurance claim is denied.
**IF YOU REQUIRE A QUOTE FOR THE SHIPMENT OF LARGE ARTWORKS, MIRRORS OR FURNITURE - PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR TO BIDDING AND WE WILL REFER YOU TO A LOCAL SHIPPING COMPANY. PLEASE NOTE: ALL THIRD PARTY SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE BUYER. SJD AUCTIONS IS NOT LIABLE FOR LOST OR DAMAGED ITEMS THAT ARE SHIPPED VIA A THIRD PARTY COMPANY.**
IN-HOUSE SHIPPING: Small to medium items will be shipped via USPS Ground Advantage, FedEx OR UPS Ground / Home Delivery, or via other USPS services such as Media Mail when appropriate. Please note, we cannot provide a shipping quote on multiple lots until after the auction closes, when we have an exact weight and box dimension to input into the delivery database. For a single item, you may contact us prior to bidding for an approximate quote. Due to the volume of shipment requests, it may take us 10-14 business days to provide a shipping invoice, which will be sent via email through Stripe.com. Once the shipping invoice is paid, we will send a confirmation email to your e-mail address on file with tracking information.
Please confirm your Auction Ninja address on file is correct as we will ONLY be shipping to the shipping address on your account. Any additional cost incurred because of an incorrect address will be the responsibility of the buyer. We will bill your Auction Ninja card on file through Stripe.com, or you can pay directly through PayPal - if you choose the PayPal option, we will email you the PayPal address.
We will assess a $15.00 handling fee per package for jewelry, book and ephemera lots, in addition to the actual shipping cost. For in-house approved artworks we charge a $25 handling fee per artwork plus shipping - additional handling charges may apply to artworks measuring 30 inches or more. For box lots (except pottery lots) / home decor / seasonal items / toys / multi-lot orders, we charge a $25 handling fee PER PACKAGE (NOT PER ITEM) plus shipping - PLEASE NOTE THAT WE DO OUR BEST TO COMBINE SHIPPING WHENEVER POSSIBLE. Pottery lots will incur a $25 handling fee per lot (not per package). These handling fees are in place to cover materials used, employee labor costs and credit card processing fees. If the shipping invoice is not paid within 7 days of receipt, bidder agrees to forfeit the items without refund.
Again, if you are not sure if an item qualifies for in-house shipping, please contact us prior to bidding. If you require shipping for large items, such as furniture, mirrors or large art works, please contact us and we will put you in touch with a local shipping service for a quote.
UNCLAIMED ITEMS: If you miss the pick-up day, or select shipping and later decide that the shipping cost is too much, we will not allow you to schedule an appointment to pick-up the items, or to pick-up on the next auction pick-up date. If you miss the pick-up date, and decide that you would like shipping you must contact us within 7 days of the auction close, or risk forfeiting your items without refund. NO EXCEPTIONS.
If you have an extenuating circumstance, such as a death in the family or major illness, we MAY in rare instances, make an exception. However, we reserve the right to deny your request for any reason.
