Antique Knights Templar Masonic Ceremonial Sword. Measures approximately 36". This is a decorative piece used in rituals by the fraternal organization, rather than a medieval weapon.
The hilt is topped with a knight's head pommel, a common feature on many fraternal swords, not unique to Masons.
The white (or ivory-colored) grip with gold-plated fittings indicates the owner was a Past Commander within the order.
The cross-shaped guard (quillon) is characteristic of Templar swords. Symbols include the "Cross and Crown" emblem with a red cross, a key identifier of the Masonic Knights Templar.
The ornate, gold-plated scabbard with detailed decorative engravings further denotes the high rank of Commander. Has detailed etchings in the sword. Pre-owned condition. By McLilley & Co, Columbus Ohio.
