Galileo Glass Thermometer

This is a Galileo thermometer, a decorative instrument that measures temperature based on the principle of buoyancy discovered by Galileo Galilei.
It consists of a sealed glass cylinder filled with a clear liquid and several glass spheres (floats) of varying densities.
Each sphere has a small metal tag attached, which indicates a specific temperature.
As the ambient temperature changes, the density of the liquid in the cylinder also changes, causing the spheres to rise or fall.
The current temperature is indicated by the lowest floating sphere in the upper part of the cylinder.
This model has multiple colored spheres (red, blue, orange, brown, purple) and is a common home decor item. Measures approximately 13" tall. Pre-owned condition.
