The oblong hinged lid with rounded corners and molded edge opening to a cast brass plate labeled "Steinway & Sons, New York, Pat. Nov. 29, 1859," raised on heavily carved cabriole legs terminating in scrolled feet, on casters. Piano has undergone professional restoration.
