Janet Flanner and Marcel Vertes, "The Stronger Sex as Seen by Vertes," No. 968 of a limited edition of 1,750. New York: The Hyperion Press, 1941. 12 pages of text, illustrated with 24 tipped-in plates (some erotic), mostly in sepia and hand colored, a few in black and white, and with several in-text drawings. Together with three monotypes of birds, each printed from the original by Giancarlo Gemo, Vicenza, 1967; and six lithographs from "La carrozza d'Oro" (The Golden Coach), 1952, illustrated by Brini. Janet Flanner (1892-1978) was an American writer and journalist who served as the Paris correspondent of the "The New Yorker" magazine from 1925 until her retirement in 1975. She wrote under the pen name "Genet."
