Item Description

Pennsylvania Candlebox and Two New England Boxes, Mid-19th Century. The pine and poplar candlebox in red paint, with finger hold and chamfered sliding lid; the two boxes comprising a ladies canvas-covered and leather dome-top travelling trunk, the inside cover mounted with a wallpaper fragment hand painted with a peony and songbird, the box lined in newspaper printed "Connecticut Lottery" in red, dated October 17, 1840 and pertaining to political subjects; and a New England painted tin document box.
