Painted Cast-Iron Lady with Shawl Doorstop and a Castle Doorstop, Both the Albany Foundry Co., Van Rensselaer Island, Albany, New York, 1897-1932. The woman with shawl appears to be in the original paint, cast holding a shawl.

Woman with Shawl: H: 8.25 in., W: 3.5 in., D: 3.5 in.

Literature: Each illustrated in John C. and Nancy M. Smith, "The Doorstop Book: An Encyclopedia of Doorstop Collecting," pp. 183 and 242, respectively. The Albany Foundry Co. produced grey metal castings that the purchaser could paint themselves.
