Item Description

One of the nicer examples I've seen, with a bulbous, fluted base, slender textured neck and ornate painted decoration. Japanese made in the Imari style, with influences that would appeal for European export. Blue paint decorated flowers and bees, a center cartouche in bold red with gold embellishments, high relief floral motifs, and gilt cobalt blue rim band make for a striking example. Circa 1900. Several rough spots to bottom/base [shown in photo #9], but in very good condition. Stands 12.25"
