Item Description

This is a very beautiful antique French Comtoise long case clock. It was purchased in Switzerland and shipped to this home in CT. These clocks were produced in the Franche-Comte region of France between the 18th and 20th centuries where they were the must have home decor at the time - and today this one is a an absolutely beautiful piece of that past. The name “Dubois fils” on the clock face refers to the clockmaker. The clocks face features Roman numerals and a sunburst pendulum. The movement is driven by two weights one for the time and one for the striking mechanism. The movements for these clocks were produced in the Jura mountains of France. This particular clock has beautiful distinctive brass repose work.
Now only if it could talk!

The clock is more stunning and special in person with a rich deep warm wood tone from its many years on this earth :). It has all the working parts but has not been used in some time and is being sold untested. Size 7'1" H x 16 W x 9 D
