Alain Sèbe discovers the world of the Tuaregs. Graduated from the School of Photography of Vevey (Switzerland) in 1961, he soon opened a commercial studio in Nice. A few years later, in 1970, a contract will transform his life: the Algerian Ministry of Tourism entrusts him with a first photo mission in the Far South. Alain Sèbe will spend a few months in the Sahara: aerial scouting, tracks, wadi lifts, camp research, by car or camel, most often on foot. The desert is earned. He also bewitches. This first report will be followed by many others in a private capacity, during which Tagoulmoust will die, a collection of emotions rather than observations. And it is Alain Sèbe's first originality to have been able to communicate what he felt, without altering it, neither the spontaneity, nor this purity of which the Sahara is so prodigal. Despite his many stays in the Hoggar and the title of expert of the Tuareg world. So no explanation, no analysis, no makeup. Only excerpts from road notes, to locate the shots. No philosophy, no judgment, but clean poems to open a little the veil that masks the Tuareg soul.
