This Moennig Brothers Artist Model, serial number 6542 was manufactured in the late 1930s (Pre-WWII).
Produced in Markneukirchen, Germany.

"Moennig Bros. Artist Model" engraved on the bell.
Professional-grade oboe with third octave key made from Grenadilla wood with silver-plated keywork.

With extra reeds and original case.
23" long

A third octave key on an oboe is a specialized, optional mechanism used to stabilize and make it easier to produce notes in the high register. Located above the first octave key, it helps provide better intonation and clarity of tone. - Google
