Late 20th Century Maitland Smith Mahogany Double Pedestal Dining Table With Brass Casters

A substantial double-pedestal dining table in richly figured mahogany, designed in the Georgian/Chippendale revival taste and closely matched to Maitland-Smith dining suites. The oval top with molded edge rests on two turned pedestal standards issuing three reeded saber legs each, joined by shaped stretchers and terminating in brass box casters. The warm reddish-brown finish displays attractive grain and traditional hand-rubbed depth, coordinating with carved ball-and-claw dining chairs of the same suite.
The elegant twin-pedestal configuration provides generous leg clearance and balanced support for formal dining. Brass casters allow smooth extension and positioning.
Condition
Structurally sound and stable. Light surface wear, small finish rubs, and minor edge marks consistent with dining use. Bases and stretchers well preserved; casters intact and functional. Overall strong presentation.
