Item Description

Antique dome top steamer trunk with textured surface design likely dating from the late 19th century (circa 1870–1900).
This trunk features a curved "dome" or "humpback" lid. This design was both aesthetic and practical, as it prevented other luggage from being stacked on top of it, ensuring the trunk remained at the top of a pile and was less likely to be crushed. (Google)
The exterior consists of a wood frame with a patterned embossed covering with heavy metal banding and decorative latches.
