Item Description

In black wood frame with paper backing, This antique print of Plate XVII of Audobon's famous Bird of America series. Full caption reads "Carolina Turtle Dove, Columbia Carolinensis, Linn. Males 1. Females 2. White feathered. White flowered Stuartia, Stuartia. Malaccdendron."

Fine print under image on left "Drawn from Nature and Published by John J. Audobon, F.R.S., E.I.S." and on the right "Engraved, Printed & Coloured by R. Havell. Top caption on left reads "No. 4" and on the right "plate XVII.

Note: There are a couple small faint water marks on the bottom and the frame corner has separated on the bottom right corner. The frame has a couple of small scuffs.
