Elegant early-19th-century American Classical (Empire) mahogany recaimerfeaturing boldly scrolled arms, shaped crest rail, and robust turned front feet. The frame shows rich mahogany grain and warm patina; the seat and arm pads are upholstered in a later teal/turquoise velvet-like fabric. Low, elongated profile makes it ideal as a hall recamier, library daybed, or statement bench.

Conditon: Good antique structural condition with age-appropriate wear. Upholstery is later and shows surface wear, stains and fading consistent with use. Frame retains attractive patina with scattered scuffs, nicks, and finish variation. Underside reveals historic repairs, reinforcement blocks, and period joinery consistent with age; all visible in photos. Sound and stable for use.
