Ancient Roman JANUS SILVER DENARIUS- Bezel Set In Solid 14K Gold With Faceted Diamonds- 2150 Year Old Coin!

One of the grails for ancient coin collectors, an original 121 B.C. SILVER Roman 'JANUS' denarius, set in a custom solid 14K gold bezel with a pair of inset faceted diamonds. The jeweler that mounted it used a coin in HIGH grade condition [it is prong set, so the coin is unaltered in any way]. Though over 2100 years old, the coin is of the highest pedigree, with crisp details on both the front and verso. The front represents JANUS in young and old form, meant to represent life, death and renewal. On the reverse, the Goddess Roma granting power and good will to the Roman Republic. It was only minted for several years, between 122-121 B.C. The two sides were purposefully set at opposing angles, a rarity for ancient coins. Meant to represent the struggle between life and power. The coin is quite valuable on its' own. This is the finest setting I found in my research. SOLID 14k halo, with a pair of high-grade faceted diamonds.
