a pair of vintage brass carbide bicycle lamps manufactured by P & H (Powell & Hanmer Ltd.), marked No. 540. These classic lamps were commonly used on early bicycles and motorcycles in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and are highly collectible pieces of cycling history.
Each lamp features a solid brass body with a large glass lens, hinged front door, and the traditional carbide chamber design used to produce acetylene light. The lamps also include mounting hardware and adjustment knobs typical of early bicycle lighting systems.
The brass construction has developed a nice aged patina, giving the lamps a great antique character.
