US Military M17 Series Gas Mask With Carrying Bag

M17A1 model, shown with its olive drab canvas carrier bag. It was the standard issue protective mask for US troops from the 1960s to the 1980s.
The mask features dual internal cheek filters, eliminating the need for an external canister.
It was designed to protect against chemical and biological agents, as well as radioactive particles.
The M17 series was widely used during the Vietnam War.
