The coin features the national arms of Mexico (an eagle with a snake in its beak) on one side and the circle of the Aztec sun stone representing Tonatiuh on the other.
It is a bimetallic coin, with an aluminum-bronze center in a stainless steel ring.
The original series of these coins (from 1992-1995) had a sterling silver center.
The face value is 10 Pesos.
