A charming and highly personal framed presentation featuring a handwritten humorous “award speech” by Academy Honorary Award recipient Eli Wallach, paired with an original pencil drawing titled “Birdie – The Ballerina” by his wife, acclaimed stage and screen actress Anne Jackson.
The left sheet, written entirely in Wallach’s hand and signed at the bottom, is titled “My Speech at any Award Ceremony” and humorously thanks an eclectic list of contributors to his success before ending with “Time up.” The tone reflects Wallach’s wit and theatrical sensibility.
The right sheet features an original pencil sketch of a ballerina titled “Birdie – The Ballerina”, signed by Anne Jackson. The couple, married from 1948 until Wallach’s death in 2014, were one of American theater’s most respected artistic partnerships.
Professionally double-matted and framed.
