Cornelius Vanderbilt Chair

Antique child's chair featuring a turned wood frame and needlepoint upholstery embroidered with the intials CVB and prominent carved finals. Purchased in an antique store, the seller purchased as Cornelius Vanderbilt's childhood chair. The design appears to be in a Renaissance Revival or Italianate style characterized by spool-turned legs and stretchers.
