Antique Wooden Butter Molds

Pair of antique wooden butter molds, which are primitive kitchen tools historically used to shape and mark butter. These pieces were used to shape butter pats and imprint designs before the butter cooled. These piece were typically hand-turned from woods like cherry, maple or popular with a plunger mechanism used to press the butte out. Small 4" x 5" larger 4.5" x 5.75"

Notes: Condition is consistant with age. Smaller mold has a crack on one side. Photographs are considered part of the description and condition and supersede all written descriptions.
