African Tribal Mask

Spiritual tribal mask from the Sepik River area, the longest river on the island of New Guinea, and the third largest in Oceania by discharge volume after the Fly and Mamberamo. Hand carved of solid wood with multiple rows of shell embellishment along the outer part of the mask. The mask boast very thin feathers to form a hair like appearance. Purchased from the Susanne Lawford Collage Gallaries in Australia, this is a vintage piece beautifully crafted.
