Charming hand-colored photograph titled “Roses and a Bud” by Wallace Nutting, depicting a domestic garden scene with a woman and child beneath a blooming rose arbor at the entrance of a shingled home. The soft coloration and idyllic subject are characteristic of Nutting’s highly collectible early 20th-century works.
Signed in plate and titled in pencil beneath the image. Retains period presentation in a gilt wood frame with wide mat.
Measures 7.5" x 10", overall 15.5" x 17.5".
Condition: Toning and spotting to mat, consistent with age. Frame with visible wear, losses, and finish degradation (see images). Backing paper torn and fragile. Image presents well.
