Antique gilt metal military or marksmanship-style medal featuring an eagle with crossed rifles above a laurel wreath. The central medallion bears a monogrammed emblem, surrounded by a blue enamel band inscribed “Pres. by Capt. Wm. Texter.” Suspended from an ornate pin-back bar with original hinge and clasp intact.
Possibly associated with a private shooting club or militia organization, with period notes suggesting a New York / Coney Island connection (unverified, included as found). Finely detailed with layered construction.
