Vintage Asian Doll

A jewel of mid-century Chinese folk artistry, this exquisite traditional court lady doll is a testament to the refined handcraft traditions of mainland China's state-operated arts and crafts enterprises. Standing approximately 5–6 inches tall, she commands attention with a hand-painted wooden head featuring delicately brushed lashes, rosy cheek dots, and a perfectly formed crimson mouth — facial artistry of uncommon precision and charm.

Her vibrant red silk-brocade robe, richly embroidered with gold floral motifs, flows to a cone-shaped base in the classic display doll construction of the 1960s–1980s. A black decorative yoke trimmed in red, gold, and silver chain frames her shoulders, while gold fringe tassels at the sleeves speak to the skilled hands that assembled her. Colors remain vivid and wholly unfaded.
