Rare Aesthetic Cheval Dressing Mirror C. 1880

This is a rare American Aesthetic Period cheval dressing mirror in the style of the Herter Brothers, circa 1880. The primary woods are of figured chestnut and ash. The inlaid designs are rosewood, ebony, olive wood, satinwood, amboyna and several others. The Cheval dressing mirror came from an affluent Newport Rhode Island estate. It is in excellent condition with the exception of a blister to a small part of the inlay at the top of the mirror. (See photo). The dimensions for the cheval mirror are: 90” tall x 37 1/2” wide x 23 1/2” deep. There are two other matching pieces also up for auction. One is a bed and the other is a dresser with mirror and marble top. The set is a very fine and rare Aesthetic bedroom suite in excellent condition.
