Colebrookdale Iron Co. Sad Iron, manufactured in Boyertown, Pennsylvania. A "sad iron" (or flat iron) with a pointed shape on both ends to allow ironing in either direction, typically used with a detachable handle. These irons were heated on a stove and used for pressing clothes in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The item is shown in used condition with visible surface rust
