With its slim minimalist profile and tapered legs, and practical versatility, the Nelson Daybed has become a cornerstone of Mid Century Modern design interiors. A relaxing and stylish sofa with removable bolster cushions converts to a comfortable bed at night. A rare find in such good condition, the cushion and bolsters have been reupholstered in a quality vintage woven black and white fabric. All original walnut frame and metal springs, with Herman Miller label. Georg Nelson, one of the most influential designers of the 20th Century, designed this distinctive daybed in 1948, and it is still in production today.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This daybed has a stabilized split in the middle of the front part of the frame (see pictures) and the front legs are loose. this could be repaired by a qualified furniture maker/restorer.
Notes: Split from sided to side in the front part of the frame, front legs are loose. otherwise good condition.
