Item Description

This is a heavy, solid brass apothecary mortar and pestle set featuring a unique piece of medical marketing history. The front is engraved with the commemorative text: "Keflex reached the 100 in 1978" alongside the official Lilly (Eli Lilly and Company) logo.
This set was likely issued to pharmacists or medical professionals to celebrate a major sales milestone for the antibiotic Keflex in the late 1970s. The mortar features a flared rim, double knob handles, and a felt-lined base to protect surfaces. The matching double-ended pestle has a nice weight and ergonomic grip.
