Four fine examples of famous artists books from the Library of Great Painters published around 1949-1950. This is a beautiful paperback set of art books published by Harry N. Abrams of New York City, New York.
These books are in excellent condition for their age with minimal yellow discoloration around the edges.
This four book set includes a book each on Renoir, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and French Impressionists.
Each book has around 22 pages telling the history of the famous artist's history, their techniques, and includes 10 high quality prints that can be removed to be framed for display. Each print has a commentary on the opposite page that will educate you about the print to increase your understanding and enjoyment of the artwork.
Anyone who has studied art or just appreciates these classic artists would enjoy having this beautifully preserved 75 year old collection.
The Van Gogh book is missing two of the removable images. One image from the French Impressionists is stuck in the back of the Renoir folio (we did not want to potentially damage it by trying to remove). Otherwise, all plates are present and in excellent condition.
each: 10" x 13"
