Item Description

A charming and increasingly hard-to-find original Long Island Rail Road ticket reading “The Long Island Express from Pearsalls, N.Y.”—a wonderful piece of regional transportation ephemera from the early 20th century, when rail was king and destinations were announced with bold typography and confident flair.

Pearsalls was an early station stop along the LIRR’s Port Washington Branch and is historically tied to what is now the Pearsall’s / East Williston / Albertson area of Nassau County. The station name evolved as surrounding communities developed, making this ticket a small but evocative artifact from Long Island’s commuter and resort-travel past.

Printed in a vivid red-orange field with strong black lettering and period type, the ticket is presented in a deep, stepped frame that complements its warm tones and gives it the presence of a miniature graphic poster. Though modest in scale, it delivers big character—perfect for a gallery wall, study, library, or rail enthusiast’s display.
