Item Description

Cue the gentle clink of porcelain and a little turn-of-the-century glamour.

This hand-painted Nippon porcelain chocolate pot features graceful white cranes in flight across a soft robin’s-egg blue ground, surrounded by raised moriage-style gilt florals and scrolling botanical details. The form is beautifully balanced, with a tall, tapering body, domed lid with finial, and an elegant, elongated spout that feels straight out of a grand tea service.

The underside bears a “Hand Painted Nippon” mark, dating the piece to Japan’s export golden age of roughly 1890–1921 — when richly decorated porcelain like this was made to impress Western markets with craftsmanship and ornamentation.

Gold-accented handle, jeweled-style enamel dots around the rim, and layered surface texture give this piece serious visual depth. It works just as well as a display centerpiece as it would in a cabinet of fine porcelain.
