This early aeronautical piece crated by Montaut, French (1878 -1909) depicts the pioneering aviator Henry Farman winning the Grand Prix d' Aviation (also known as the Deutsch-Arcdeacon Prize) on Jan. 13, 1908.
The image shows his Voisin biplane equipped with an Antoinette engine. He was the first person to complete this course in a heavier than aircraft, a significant achievement.
