Pair of Wishbone style chairs inspired by Hans J. Wegner. Known as the “Master of Chairs”, Hans Wegner was one of the most influential and leading figures around interior design through the 1940s to 1960s.
The Wishbone Chair will bring lightness and charm and is one of the most famous icons of mid-century Danish design. Intricate handwoven seat.
The chair’s design is a masterpiece of stunning simplicity. Wegner created the Wishbone Chair in 1949 as the last of a series inspired by paintings of Danish merchants in Chinese Ming chairs. With its curved back legs tapering to join the back rail, its silhouette remains by far the most well-known of those chairs. The Wishbone chair is a minimalist’s delight, with a light but strong and elegant frame coupled with a paper-cord seat that’s comfortable to sit on. This pair is in nice condition.
