I'm leaving this review because my experience with this estate sale/auction company was stressful, unnecessarily complicated, and ultimately cost us money.
My husband and I won nearly $500 worth of items in their Bainbridge Island auction. We live on Camano Island, so pickup required a ferry trip and significant travel time. The night before pickup, we noticed fraudulent activity on our bank account and our bank froze our cards. On the way to pickup, we contacted the company to explain that we would pay in cash. We were told they do not accept cash (or any payment) at the pickup site and were instructed to go to Walmart, buy a gift card, and use it to pay online before we could receive our items. This was odd, but we did it, which delayed us. After payment, we called again to confirm and to say we would be late. We were told it was fine and they would wait.
While waiting for the ferry, we called once more to keep them updated. At that point they asked us to come the next morning at 9:00 a.m. instead, which we agreed to. The next morning we arrived early, but the ferry filled up and we had to wait for the next sailing. We immediately contacted the company, apologized, and explained we would arrive about 20 minutes after 9:00.
During the ferry ride we received a text saying we had 90 minutes to remove our items. When we arrived, the person on site repeatedly emphasized the 90-minute limit and was rude from the start. Our items were spread throughout a three-story house, and access was only through the garage, so we were running up and down stairs and working as fast as we physically could. As the 90 minutes approached, he repeatedly demanded we choose items to "leave behind," even though we were actively moving everything out and had no intention of abandoning anything we paid for. As such we attempted to remove what we could from inside the house and placed those items next to our car to load.
When the 90 minutes ended, he told us we could not take any more of our purchased items and forced us to leave items behind, even the items that we had removed but were not "in our car". He began taking those items we had already carried downstairs and were loading into our car and carried them back into the house. He also ripped a box out of my husband's hands as he was placing it in our trunk.
A neighbor, who witnessed what was happening, kindly offered to let us park in his driveway so we could finish packing quickly without blocking anything. The company representative then told us we could not go to the neighbor's driveway and threatened to call the police-then actually did. When the police arrived, the neighbor confirmed we had permission to be there, and the officers told us (correctly) that this was a civil issue to work out with the company, not a police matter.
Once we got home and accounted for what we were allowed to take versus what we were forced to leave, we calculated that about $180 worth of items we paid for were kept from us. To make matters worse, many of the items we did receive were not as described and/or not working. I understand "as-is" policies and that estate sales operate on tight schedules, but the way this was handled was hostile and unreasonable-especially given that we were present, working quickly, and communicating throughout the entire process.
Over the past 10+ years we have worked with hundreds of estate and auction sellers and have never had an experience as disturbing as this. I strongly recommend that anyone considering bidding with this company read their contract carefully and understand that they may enforce it in a way that benefits them rather than trying to find a reasonable solution. Also worth noting: they have a physical store, so items they deem "abandoned" may simply be resold.

Pick up was poorly planned and executed. I waited over 3 hours in parking area to get address for pick up. Then another hour at pick up address. It was dark when I finally had my items loaded and ready to leave. Missed the fairy and had to wait until last 7:30pm fairy to return to mainland. I left Seattle at 11:00am and returned after 9:00pm. It was a nightmare. Pick up should have been scheduled over two days and by appointment.

I have never encountered this issue with an auction company on Auction Ninja so I'm leaving a review to call out an important company policy of Blue Nest Home. I purchased a lot that clearly stated 2 items were "18k gold items" and showed a picture of a ring and pendant with a tape labelled 18K. When I received the items and inspected them, they are clearly marked 18K GE and 18K GP so they are 18k plated items. Since no pictures of the markings were included in the listing, you would not know the items were plated until you bought them. When I spoke with the manager, she stated that that the company policy as noted in the auction instructions is "Unless noted, items have not been tested, checked for authenticity or completeness. Blue Nest Home will not provide refunds or a reduction in price for any of these matters". The manager informed me that it is up to the bidder to ask if the 18K items are solid gold or 18KGP or 18KGF before bidding. Now in the hundreds of auctions I've participated in, I have never been told that 14K, 18K etc could include filled or plated items and that I need to ask before bidding. Other items in the same lot were clearly marked 10K GF or stated GF so I didn't think to ask if 18K meant 18K or it could include plated and filled items. Of the sterling silver lot, only 50% of the items were actually sterling - again they include filled items in with the 925 sterling. My bid was based on the 18K items in the lot as the value of the remaining items was minimal. They have offered a $20 refund for the mistake but the market value difference between 18K and 18KGP for the 2 items is approximately $75. If they make a mistake in the listing, they should allow returns or refund the total difference. This is my first and last auction with Blue Nest Home.

BIDDERS:
Your dashboard is a place that organizes and presents you account information in one, easy-to-access location. You can access all your account information directly from the dashboard including: items won, consignments, items following, items bid upon, billing info, etc. You can also update your credit card information from your dashboard ( see “How do I change my credit card on file?”) below.
Blue Nest Home only accepts bids by people whose credit cards are valid, registered and vetted by our credit card processing platform in order to protect the integrity of our auction. We require a valid credit card for all bidders (Amex, Discover, Visa, or Mastercard). Additionally, to ensure efficient processing, the primary credit card on file for all bidders is charged once the auction closes. The charge will include the hammer price, buyers’ premium, and pertinent sales tax.
Please note: All credit card information is encrypted to the highest levels of safety possible and will not be used or distributed for any other purposes.

Once the card is added you can choose to make it your primary (or default) card for any future auction’s auto debit.
If you received notification that you were a winning bidder but your credit card was declined, simply update your credit card on file. You will then notice that your auction winnings will appear in your shopping cart. Simply check-out and you’re all set.
Check the item description for dimensions to verify it fits in your vehicle, whether you may need additional manpower to move the item and if you need to bring your own packing materials. If you are choosing shipping as your delivery method, please understand and read through our shipping policies.

EACH LOT CONTAINS A PHOTO INDICATING IF THE LOT IS AVAILABLE TO BE SHIPPED.
Much like bidding during a live auction, the auctioneer generally won’t hammer at the first bid. Auctioneers will give other bidders an opportunity to increase their bids until there is no further action / interest in the piece. We feature “extended bidding”in our online auction format because it best mimics live bidding (albeit in a timed format). All bids placed within the last five minutes of the auction will extend that auction an additional five minutes to allow further offers.
Why do we use extended bidding you may ask? In order to create the fairest simulated “real-life” auction scenario possible and to prevent “bid sniping.
If you are out bid you will receive an email notifying you. You then have the option to submit another bid.
All winners will receive an email explaining payment, resale certificates, pick-up information, item storage and shipping options. All won items can also be accessed by logging into your dashboard.
If you do not receive an email with the pick-up information, please check your spam fold first. If it is still not located, please notify us by sending us a message directly through Auction Ninja or by emailing us at frontdesk@bluenesthome.com
Bring your invoice and look for signage indicating where to check-In. Please be patient, as you may have to wait in line. When it is your turn, a Blue Nest Home team member will take you to your items. Please remember to bring an appropriate vehicle, additional manpower if needed, and packing materials to remove your items. Any items not picked up will incur a $50.00 charge per item. This will be charged to your card on file with Auction Ninja.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
ALL ITEMS SOLD AS IS:
All items are sold as-is and buyer is encouraged to ask all questions prior to bidding. Blue Nest Home does its best to list any damage, repairs or condition issues, the absence of these descriptions or conditions must not be taken to imply that the lot is in perfect condition. Most of the items sold are antique, vintage or used. You should expect signs of wear consistent with age. Please review photos and descriptions carefully prior to bidding. Unless noted items have not been tested, checked for authenticity or completeness. Blue Nest Home will not provide refunds or a reduction in price for any of these matters. All sales are final once the auction has closed. Buyers are responsible for bringing their own packing materials, an appropriate vehicle and additional manpower if needed to remove. Buyer is responsible for taking everything in the lot during pick up. We understand that you may only want parts of a lot that you bid on, however, our contract is with the client who owns the home. We strategically lot items together so that the entire lot may be removed from the client's home.
EXTENDED BIDDING:
If a bid is placed in the last 2 minutes the auction will automatically extend in time.
BUYER'S PREMIUM:
There is a buyer’s premium on all lots. Please read all instructions and ask any questions before bidding.
BIDDING:
Current bids cannot be changed or removed once submitted and each one is a promise that you will honor the bid and all the terms. SHIPPING POLICY:

Blue Nest Home is a small, independently owned company that provides shipping services as a convenience factor to our buyers. Your card on file will be charged the actual cost of shipping plus a handling fee of $25.00. Shipping may take up to two weeks following the close of an auction. All questions must be addressed prior to bidding on items. No refunds will be given for shipped items. No refund will be issued if the buyer decides not to ship.
PICK UP POLICY:
All buyers with invoices over $300 must be prepared to show a photo ID and invoice before items are released.
Catalog descriptions take precedence over photos (i.e. not all visible items in the lot images belong to that lot). Check the description and/or speak with the pickup team to clarify which item(s) you have purchased.
Unless stated otherwise in the description, buyers must remove their entire lot(s) as leaving items behind may result in a suspension of bidding privileges. Any items not picked up will incur a $50.00 charge per item. You will also be charged $50 for leaving items behind per lot. Furthermore, leaving items behind may result in a suspension of bidding privileges. Check the description and/or speak with the pickup team to clarify which item(s) you have purchased. Inspect your items before you leave the pickup site and discuss issues (if any) with the onsite team/seller. By departing from the site (without bringing up any issues transparently while on-site) you agree that you have all your items and that you are satisfied with them.
Restrooms are not available for public use at pickup locations so plan according .
Any business unrelated to the pickup must be conducted in another location and/or outside the pickup time.
No children under the age of 12 or animals are allowed on site, as moving furniture and heavy items can be dangerous.
Team members do not have packing materials and are not allowed to carry or load your purchased items. Please have adequate supplies and help to safely remove your purchases.
BOTTOM TERMS:
When participating in a Blue Nest Home auction you agree to all terms and conditions and authorize Blue Nest Home to charge the credit or debit card you have entered on file for the hammer price of an item of which you were the high bidder, plus the buyer's premium, and all applicable sales tax. Your card will be charged within 24 hours of the purchase. If you have selected to have the items shipped, you will see an additional charge of $25 handling fee plus actual shipping charges charged to your account when the item is shipped. Any items not picked up will incur a $50.00 charge per item. This will be charged to your card on file with Auction Ninja.
