Q&A With Krista
AN: How would you describe your taste/style?
KR: Modern traditional (if there is such a thing!). I love mixing dark woods with light and bright colors to balance each other out. Lots of blue, white and gold. All of the best things that were from my grandmothers' era updated for a fresh 2021 look.
AN: What got you interested in secondhand, vintage and antique items?
KR: The love for it started when we bought our house in Connecticut. We're in a colonial-style home and listening to what the home wanted/needed lead me to look for more pre-loved items. Plus, the price and the quality for secondhand, vintage, and antique items were far superior to what is available in stores today so it was a no-brainer.
AN: What are the one or two things that you always find yourself bidding on?
KR: love chairs. I don't know why or where I can even put them now but there are so many great chairs out there from dinner to seating to lounge -- the options for shape, color, texture and vibe are endless.
AN: What's your favorite AuctionNinja purchase?
KR: I just recently snagged this amazing brass chandelier for our dining room at a great price and I am so so so excited to hang it up.
AN: What's your absolute favorite item ever purchased through an estate sale or online auction?
KR: I found this vintage chest from the early 1800's that is in perfect condition (passed down in their family) and I now have it in my office. It's so beautiful I get excited every time I look at it.
AN: Any tips or advice for AuctionNinja newbies?
KR: Check often for new items and make sure to follow specific items you're interested in and set reminders for when they close. I can't tell you how many times I've missed out because I forgot about the closing time for an auction.
