Here we have an exceptionally nice etching of the New York Harbor from 1879. It certainly is a wonderful etching from days gone by and has been imprinted on a mid to darker cream paper along with black etching.
This Etching has a cream toned mat that appears to be acid, free along with a demure slim brown wooden frame, which adds to the beauty of this etching.
The back of this framed etching has additional information that the original owner added, (which is in plastic) noting that the artist was born 1843 in London, and came to United States in 1862.
There were handwritten notations from the original owner of this item, along with photocopied pages from a book in the Farmington library from 1984 giving additional information.
The measurement of the etching itself is approximately 8 inches in length by 5 1/2 inches in height. With matting and framing, this item is approximately 18” in length and 13” in height.
