Vibrant Ashanti and Ewe Cloths, known as Kente, stand out as some of the most identifiable African textiles. The intricate weaving of narrow strips, the checkerboard-like patterns upon their assembly, and the signature hues of blue, red, green, and yellow collectively contribute to the unique look of Kente. These cloths are crafted and pieced together by men, yet both genders don garments fashioned from this fabric.

The looms employed in creating these textiles produced strips of a specific size, later stitched together to form larger panels.
