Important Bronze Statue by Rodin, inscribed with "A. Rodin" and "Alexis Rudier Fondeur Paris" to the side and A. Rodin inside. Auguste Rodin (1840-1917)has long been known for his sensual yet muscular figures of women. Tete de la Luxure derives from his 1882 Femme Accroupie, which was created for a set of bronze doors for the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, better known as The Gates of Hell. Cast in bronze, most likely posthumously, perhaps c.1920. 10”W X 14”H.
